ConvaTec Rallies 4 Youth!

2011 Youth Rally Summer Camp, July 11-16 in San Diego

ConvaTec is proud to continue its support for Youth Rally, the annual Summer Camp for young people 11 to 17 years old who have an ostomy or other bladder and bowel disorders.

Operated by the Youth Rally Committee (YRC), the week-long camp strives to provide a positive support network that highlights independence and individuality as tools youths can use to regain confidence and a sense of belonging.

But if you speak to anyone who has actually attended Rally, you can clearly see that words don’t do justice to the benefit of the camp.

Each year, more and more campers come, with more than 150 kids making up the largest Rally group last year in Cincinnati, OH. The majority arrive scared, alone, and struggling to cope with their medical conditions. But after group discussions and activities in an environment of support, they return home feeling confident about themselves with a new lease on life, all thanks to those five special days.

For the past several years, ConvaTec has partnered with the Youth Rally Committee to make the camp into the life-changing experience that it has become today.

“Every year hundreds of young people who live with bowel and bladder disorders come to Youth Rally to be with others dealing with similar life circumstances. Rally is a special place and thanks to the generous support of ConvaTec, no child ever gets turned away,” said Youth Rally Committee CEO Paul Hastings.
