Managing wound symptoms

The body has developed a structured process for repairing the damage. In chronic wounds, however, the process of repair is disrupted and the barrier to healing needs to be removed in order to repair the wound.1

Good wound management, of both chronic and acute wounds, is focused on supporting the body's natural processes to ensure efficient and effective wound closure.1

The following pages focus on 3 key elements of wound management: debridement, infection management and exudate management.
