  • Effluent

    Fluid flowing out of the body, such as urine and feces.
  • Enteritis

    Inflammation of the intestine, particularly of mucous and submucous tissues; usually refers to inflammation of the small intestine.
  • Epidermis

    Thin, insensate layer of cells on the outside of the skin.
  • Epithelium

    Layer(s) of cells that cover the internal and external surfaces of the body, including the lining of vessels and other small cavities. It serves as protection for the body and aids in secretion and absorption.
  • Erosion

    Eating away of superficial layers of the skin. Also called denuded.
  • Erythema

    Redness of skin.
  • Esophagus

    Tube connecting the mouth with the stomach.
  • Excoriation

    Red, raw skin; any superficial erosions and ulcerations produced mechanically.
  • Exenteration

    Radical surgical procedure for excision of the contents of a body cavity.
  • Exudate

    Fluid or semi fluid oozed through tissue into a cavity or on the body surface.
