The only cover dressing to incorporate unique patented Hydrofiber® Technology and only available from ConvaTec, AQUACEL® Ag SURGICAL cover dressing helps improve outcomes by locking in fluid, including harmful bacteria1, and releasing ionic silver to help reduce the risk of infection.


Evidence supports that, compared to a non-woven post-operative surgical cover dressing regimen, AQUACEL® Ag SURGICAL cover dressings:2a, b

  1. A post-operative dressing regimen using Mepore™ dressing covering AQUACEL® dressing was compared to a new dressing regimen of DuoDERM® Extra Thin dressing covering AQUACEL® dressing after application of a liquid film forming acrylate. A subsequent study demonstrated no enhancement of the new dressing regimen by the acrylate.
  2. Equivalent performance of AQUACEL® SURGICAL cover dressing to DuoDERM® Extra Thin dressing covering AQUACEL® dressing demonstrated in in vitro testing.
